Anti-Choice Project Responds

The following is a response to a letter to the editor entitled, “Don’t Force Abortion Pictures on Anybody.” Ms. Habighorst is traumatized and takes offense to pictures of aborted babies. This is understandable; after all, those of us holding the pictures are deeply offended by them as well. But could someone please explain why Ms. Habighorst — and countless other Americans indifferent to the daily slaughter of unborn human beings — is more offended by an image of unspeakable injustice than by the injustice the image depicts? If abortion is a morally acceptable “choice,” why do pictures of it make pro-aborts so angry? Ms. Habighorst is horrified that her children might be subjected to pictures of abortion. It is regrettable, and we never target young children with these images. Yet it is undeniable that these photos change minds and save lives. And so we must decide which it is we care more about: the sensibilities and feelings of born children, or the lives of unborn children. We at the Anti-Choice Project (www.antichoiceproject.com) operate under the principle that lives trump feelings, and so we will be using the photos. We will be bringing them to an intersection near you. Let there be no mistake: we are very sympathetic and extend our condolences to Ms. Habighorst who discloses that she herself suffered a miscarriage 10 years ago. But if we acquiesce under the pressure of hurt feelings and painful memories, and concede to participate in the cover up of “Choice,” America will not stop the killing. Yes, the truth hurts. But the lie hurts so much more. As Dr. Martin Luther...

Letter in Kitsap Sun

A letter to the editor was published in today’s Kitsap Sun, of a woman upset with the efforts of the Anti-Choice Project, after witnessing our recent protest in Bremerton. Here is her letter in full: Don’t Force Abortion Pictures on Anybodyhttp://www.kitsapsun.com/news/2009/mar/03/letter-to-the-editor-dont-force-abortiona-on/ I am writing in response to the abortion protesters that I’m sure a lot of people saw on Saturday. I am very upset and horrified by this. For those of you that did not see it, they had very large photos of dead babies on all four corners of an intersection near Warren Avenue Bridge. My children were with me and I am very appalled that they had to see that. I monitor what they see on television and never imagined that they would see something like this in their young lives. I don’t care how strongly a person feels about abortion, they should never force these pictures on anybody. I lost a baby girl at 20 weeks and it will be 10 years on Sunday since her death. I can’t imagine how many women have gone through what I have only to have something like this shoved in their face. If any of you protesters are reading this I hope you’re happy with yourselves. You have hurt far more many people than you will ever help. You have traumatized my children and I’m sure countless others. Thank you for nothing. Amy R. Habighorst This letter has already generated a lot of comments, and we hope it will continue to do so. This is a fantastic opportunity to reach out to those complacent in the killing of pre-born...

From today’s protest

Today’s protest went really well. Thanks to all those who were able to come out! It was a fairly busy Saturday afternoon. Tom did a count and estimated about 3500 cars drove past in the hour and a half we were out. That’s 3500+ people who have probably never seen “Choice” like this before. As we were leaving, we had a car drive by and throw eggs at us. Fortunately, their aim was a mile off. Another virtuous display from the Tolerant...

Nothing is more effective to end abortion.

From Fr. Frank Pavone: Today I want to share with you the following email I received from a pro-abortion person who visited the our website at priestsforlife.org and saw the pictures of aborted babies. She wrote, “I have been a pro abortion catholic… After seeing the pictures of what it exactly was, I nearly cried thinking I supported this awful murder. I ask Jesus my Christ to forgive my past way of thinking. I finally “get it.” This is pure murder. I pray that more people will get to know what it is they are supporting.” The person then signed the letter with the pen name, “My Shame.” These pictures, at priestsforlife.org, have this effect on people every day. Invite others to view these images. You may email and print them. Nothing is more effective to end...

President’s Day Protest

The Anti-Choice Project has landed! With the help of your prayers and donations, we have increased our stock of signs to educate the public on the horrific nature of abortion. This President’s Day, we hit the streets, doubling up on every street corner (and then some)! It was a beautiful day, and a busy one for the Kitsap Mall. A great day to expose “Choice.” Reactions were mostly split between supportive and shock. Amazing, a country 35 years deep in the abortion holocaust and citizens have never seen what it looks like. That is, in fact, why we believe abortion is still legal — because it remains hidden. …Not if we have anything to do with it. Thanks to all those who could make it out! It was truly a great opportunity to show the truth, and it such great number! Thanks to Glenn S. for the...
